We're fundraising for Christmas with Dignity!

Christmas with Dignity is a doorway for parents to make sure that there are gifts under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, handpicked by them and purchased with dignity without emptying the wallet.

With community support, Christmas with Dignity can purchase gifts, wrapping paper, and other supplies like tape and gift tags for more and more families.

Rotary's areas of focus


 
 

The needs spanning Rotary's six areas of focus are vast, ranging from lack of access to clean water to the need for immunization that prevent deadly diseases.

Rotary clubs serve communities around the world, each with unique concerns and needs. Rotarians have continually adapted and improved the way they respond to those needs, taking on a broad range of service projects. The most successful and sustainable Rotary service tends to fall within one of the following six areas:

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
  • Disease prevention and treatment
  • Water and sanitation
  • Maternal and child health
  • Basic education and literacy
  • Economic and community development

  There are countless ways that Rotarians can address these needs locally and internationally.

Our Philosophy
 

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
  • FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

The test, which has been translated into more than 100 languages, asks the following questions:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

On Diversity
 

Rotary International recognizes the value of diversity within individual clubs. Rotary encourages clubs to assess those in their communities who are eligible for membership, under existing membership guidelines, and to endeavor to include the appropriate range of individuals in their clubs. A club that reflects its community with regard to professional and business classification, gender, age, religion, and ethnicity is a club with the key to its future.

Youth and Students
 Rotary's programs for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate. Through these programs, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help a community through a service project.

Membership Service: The Milwaukee North Sunrise Rotary Club is a membership organization that provides the best service to communities. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best: ‘Everybody can be great … because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace.
